The internet has changed all of our lives, particularly our children’s.

New technologies have become integral to the lives of children in today’s society; the internet and other digital and information technologies open up new opportunities and broaden children’s understanding of the world.

At Shellingford CE (A) Primary School we endeavour to ensure that children are able to use the internet and related communications technologies appropriately and safely.  E-safety is taught through Computing and Digital Literacy lessons as well as PSHCE, where issues surrounding the use of the internet, social networking and cyber bullying are discussed with the children.   We also deliver e-safety workshops in school, where children are taught how to stay online. Our e-Safety Policy can be viewed here.

We follow guidance set by the DfE, Oxfordshire LA, CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) and Think u Know, which is run by CEOP and is a resource for teachers, parents and children.
