Our thoughts continue to be occupied by the conflict in Ukraine and the ensuing refugee crisis. Regular prayers for the people of Ukraine are being said during our Collective Worships and we have given the children opportunities to discuss the situation with their teachers if questions have arisen. We are keen to organise a series of fundraising events over the next few months, to support the Ukrainian refugees as best we can.
On Friday 25th March the whole school thought about about ‘What is Peace?’ Each class was involved in a range of activities to develop their understanding of ‘peace’ and reflect on the current crisis in a meaningful and age-appropriate way. We shared what we learnt in our Celebration Assemblies at the end of this day.
We also want to raise as much as we can for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal and to date have raised £333.09.
