The whole school have thoroughly enjoyed the Printmaking Workshop this week with Sophie Basilevitch. Sophie is an artist based in Oxford who is inspired by the simple but energetic images that can be created through relief printing. Throughout the week, she has taught a progression of printing skills across the school. Class 1 looked at colour mixing and block printing, Class 2 used mono-printing and drew animals. Class 3 learnt about polyblock printing using drawing, embossing and pressing. Class 4 have created their own nature images that they then used for lino printing. We are hoping that the final piece, created by Class 4, will be displayed in the school.
